“Sacred Heart of Jesus, in you I trust.
Jesus, simple and humble of heart,
make my heart like yours.”

— From the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Ferran Blasco-Aguasca

Ferran’s interest in meditation and spirituality began in his teens, when he first came across a book on yoga and breathing exercises. In the decades since, he has had the good fortune to study with exceptional teachers from different  traditions.

In 1995, while still living in Barcelona, he was introduced to meditation through the Zen tradition of Taisen Deshimaru. In 1997, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he deepened his practice of Zen Buddhism until, in 1999, he met the Tibetan teacher Garchen Rinpoche, with whom he has studied ever since. He has also received teachings from Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, Namkhai Norbu, Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso, Mingyur Rinpoche, Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche, and Lama Pema  Chopel.

While living in Los Angeles, he graduated from Yo San University of Chinese Medicine, where he studied the Qi Gong of the Ni family tradition. He has also studied Qi Gong and Tai Chi with Howard Lee, Franklin Fick, Adriano Angelo, Master Gong Zhong Xiang, Master Li Jun Feng, and Master Jun Qing Sun.

In 2000, Juan Sáez, Dominique Susani, and Raymond Montercy introduced him to the tradition of the spiritual master builders and the Zahorí art, the study of the earth’s energies. With them he explored how the energies of the earth and the stars influence the human body and mind, and how they have been used in the design and founding of sacred sites.

In 2002 he met the Taoist master Juan Li, with whom he has studied the I Ching Dao system, with particular emphasis on Taoist healing practices, the yogas of dreaming and dying, and pilgrimage. He traveled extensively with Juan Li, on pilgrimage to Nepal and India and along the Way of Saint James. After receiving Juan Li’s teachings on pilgrimage, in 2012 he walked the Camino from his home on the Mediterranean coast to Santiago de Compostela, and on to Finisterre, on the Atlantic.

In 2010, in Varanasi, India, he met Dr. Mark Dyczkowski, with whom he studied the non-dual tradition of Kashmir Shaivism until Dr. Dyczkowski’s passing in 2024. From him he received teachings on some of the most fundamental texts of the Kashmir Shaiva and wider Hindu traditions, teachings that brought new light to the Catholic faith of his childhood and to the Gospels.

Ferran is the author of Healing Now: A Path to Optimal Well-Being and Self-Love Through Healing Meditation and the forthcoming Joyful Heart Qi Gong: Cultivating Loving Radiance Through Gentle Movement and Standing Meditation, and the co-author, with Elyn Aviva, of Where Heaven and Earth Unite, a journey of inquiry into the human heart through the study of sacred sites and the spiritual tradition of the ancient master builders. He is currently writing two further books: one on the Camino de Santiago, and one on the teachings of Jesus, drawn from three decades of meditation and prayer.

He maintains a full-time acupuncture practice at Shen Dao Rochester Acupuncture, in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where all of these studies, along with his training as a certified Strategic Intervention Coach, shape his work with patients.
